Chop, flip, and transform curated sounds in your unique style for a chance to win $1000 in plugins!
Are you ready to cook up the hottest beat? The Next Beat Chef is your chance to prove your skills in the kitchen of sound. Inspired by legendary producers like J Dilla, MF DOOM, and DJ Premier, this Hip Hop-focused competition challenges you to chop, flip, and transform a curated sample pack into a unique masterpiece. No outside ingredients—just your creativity, technique, and the tools at your disposal. The top chef will take home an amazing plugin pool valued at $1,000! The competition ends April 16th—download the sample pack here, and check out the official prizes, judging criteria, and instructions below.

🎧 Judging Criteria:
- Creativity – How well do you flip the samples into something new and exciting?
- Technical Execution – Is your beat mixed well and sonically strong?
- Adherence to Theme – Are you staying true to the art of sample chopping and transformation?
🔥 How to Enter & Participate:
Sign Up & Get Your Ingredients 🍎🥦🌶️
- Register for the competition HERE. Once you do, you'll receive an exclusive sample pack filled with the sounds you'll need to craft your beat.
Chop It Up 🔪
- Only use sounds from the sample pack to create your beat. No external samples or loops allowed. Get creative—chop, flip, and process the sounds in your own unique way.
Cook the Beat 🍳
- Create a fire track using your DAW of choice.
- Your beat must be between 1:00 and 3:00 minutes in length—anything outside this range will be disqualified.
Serve Your Masterpiece 🍽️
- Upload your final beat in MP3 or WAV format to the Label Radar contest page between March 19th - April 16th.
- By entering, you agree to let Loopcloud share your track for promotional purposes.
