This summer, producers are invited to create the ultimate Y2K-inspired anthem that feels fresh, nostalgic, and unforgettable. Tap into shimmering synths, catchy pop hooks, funky basslines, and that early 2000s attitude. Whether you’re channeling the energy of Britney, the bounce of Timbaland, or the cool of early Neptunes - now's the time to make it your own. Inspired by the golden age of turn-of-the-century pop and club music, this is your chance to craft your own Y2K beat.

🎧 Judging Criteria:
- Creativity - How do you reimagine the Y2K vibe and flip the samples into something fresh, catchy, and unforgettable?
- Technical Execution - Is your mix polished, punchy, and true to the glossy, radio-ready sound of the early 2000s?
- Adherence to Theme - Does your track stay true to the spirit of sample-driven pop, club, and R&B from the Y2K era with clever chops, standout hooks, and that undeniable throwback feel?
- Use of the Sample Pack - Does your track only use sample pack provided?
How to Enter & Participate
Register and Download the Sample Pack
- Sign up for the competition HERE. Once registered, you’ll gain access to an exclusive Y2K sample pack
- All submissions must be created using only the samples provided
Produce Your Track
- Use your DAW of choice to produce an original Y2K track
- Get creative with arrangement, processing, and composition, but do not use any external samples, loops, or instruments
Track Requirements
- Your final track must be between 1:00 and 3:00 minutes in length. Tracks outside this range will not be eligible for judging.
Submit Your Entry
- Upload your finished track in MP3 or WAV format to the LabelRadar contest page between August 8th and September 5th.
- By submitting, you agree to allow Loopcloud to share your track for promotional purposes.
