What Is UJAM SUBCRAFT?

SUBCRAFT is a sub-bass and kick plugin built by UJAM to solve a problem every producer knows: bass that sounds huge on one system and disappears on another. It runs every tone through proprietary auto-mixing DSP, keeping your low end phase-aligned and consistent whether you're checking a mix on club speakers, studio monitors, or earbuds.

At the center of the plugin is the Bass Terrain, an interactive XY pad that lets you drag your way through a huge range of sub and kick tones instead of digging through menus. Pair that with built-in randomization and a Generate function that invents entirely new sounds at the click of a button, and you've got a fast way to land on a bass tone that actually sits right.

It also ships with over 120 editable phrases through its built-in Phrase Player, so you can drag MIDI straight into your session or use it as a launchpad for your own bassline ideas.

How to Use SUBCRAFT With Loopcloud

Loopcloud is built around finding the right sounds fast, and SUBCRAFT slots right into that workflow. Here are a few ways to put it to work.

Drive SUBCRAFT with Loopcloud MIDI. Loopcloud's MIDI library gives you basslines and rhythmic ideas you can drag straight into your DAW. Drop one of those MIDI files onto SUBCRAFT instead of using its built-in phrases and you've got a real bassline, written by a producer, running through phase-aligned sub-bass that translates everywhere. It's a faster way to land on something musical than starting from scratch.

Fast bassline sketching. Use the Bass Terrain or the Generate function to find a tone in seconds, then drag in one of the included phrases to get a bassline going without leaving the plugin.

Low end for sample-based beats. Pull drum loops and one-shots from Loopcloud, then let SUBCRAFT handle the sub and kick underneath. Its auto-mixing DSP means you're not fighting phase issues between sampled drums and a synthesized low end.
