Genuinely "blurring the lines between electronic and acoustic", Wave Alchemy's new one exudes chillwave wistfulness, understated emotion and organic musicality. 29 dense, stomping drum loops (75 files) set the largely-electronic mood, with acoustic counterpoint provided by 59 live-sounding top and percussion lines that draw on a wide array of instrumentation, found sounds and foley. In the melodic department, synth basslines, riffs and leads contrast wonderfully with the most delicious pianos and guitars we've heard in ages. Great stuff.
