The Seven Sisters - Folk Nation Vol 2 is Loopmasters' latest release, continuing the folk journey from sea shanties to the traditional Folk sounds of the south coast. With a remarkably broad tempo range of 74 to 152 BPM and diverse stylistic content, this collection is not only perfect for folk-specific productions but also encourages easy experimentation across a wide range of other genres.

The spirit of Folk has travelled with us through the years, changing and adapting to popular tastes. This pack contains 3 different songs. Hidden Beach is a new piece inspired by Kipling’s poem and ode to the Sussex coast with its ship bells and sheep bells. It draws heavily on Jazz while retaining a Folk strain from a Saxon lute. Lemony is a song on a journey from The Copper Family to Post Punk’s Scritti Politti. Here, Indian drums and muscular finger-picked guitar drive the song into Funk and Jazz. The Devil And The Farmer is a Sussex standard turned into a 6\8 jig or shuffle. The Heavy funk bass and guitar ride over the synthetic drones and percussion. 

In The Seven Sisters - Folk Nation Vol 2, the songs are heard in a variety of styles from folk, jazz, blues, through to trip hop. The accompaniment includes acoustic/electric and classical guitar, electric bass, acoustic bass, Saxon lute, mandolin, autoharp, and glockenspiel. Featured keyboards include the Roland Jupiter-8 and Juno-106. The synths are programmed from scratch and include bass, pads, lead melodic lines, plus a host of electro-percussion and effects. As a bonus, we’ve included a gorgeous set of female vocals that pair beautifully with the instrumentals in this collection.
