AOS053 Braindance Soundscapes Description Braindance is the term coined by Rephlex Records started in 1991 by the electronic music’s mastermind Richard D. James (aka Aphex Twin) and Grant Wilson Claridge.
The official definition of Braindance is “the genre that encompasses the best elements of all genres, e.g. traditional, classical, electronic music, popular, modern, industrial, ambient, hip-hop, electro, house, techno, breakbeat, hardcore, raggeae, garage, drum and bass, etc.”
This kind of sound is most often used for entertainment (video games/TV/movies/breakbeats, or types of entertainment that combine them together). They are also used heavily in psychology.
This musical wave is well linked to the IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) also this born in the early 90’s which is regarded as "cerebral" and better suited to home listening than dancing.
Prominent artists associated with the genre include: Aphex Twin, µ-Ziq, Kode9, 808 State, The Orb, The Future Sound of London, Autechre, Luke Vibert, Squarepusher, Venetian Snares, Boards of Canada and many more. The Italian artist duo created this collection of ambient sounds, atmospheric drum & percussions loops, organic synth loops and naturescapes sounds inspired with just the guidelines of this musical wave.
